The share of advances by the MSME sector is at 27 per cent, housing segment is at 24 per cent, retail at 2 per cent, he told PTI.

Ghosh has confirmed that the bank will enhance its exposure to secured loans and has set an aim to increase disbursement to housing and MSME loans.

As the interest rates on micro-credits or the loans given to self-help groups (SHGs) are similar, 25 per cent of its MFI loans will be converted to formal MSME advances.

There will be "no impact on the profitability" of the bank as there is no difference in the interest rates, he said.  (KNN Bureau)
