Coordination with State govts is key for cluster development: SIDBI

Hyderabad, July 1 (KNN) To evolve a sustainable strategy in coordination with stakeholders especially with state government is imperative for cluster development, said S. Ramann, Chairman and Managing Director of Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI).

Delivering his keynote address at a virtual event on Thursday, he said that enterprise development models need to have the element of vibrancy.

It was a National level Learn-Shop on development of the MSME ecosystem organized by SIDBI in partnership with its Project Management agency Grant Thornton (GT).

He urged all stakeholders of the MSME sector to walk together for a holistic development of the MSME ecosystem across India.

Illustrating SIDBI’s role strengthening the enterprise value chain in cooperation with state governments, V. Satya Venkata Rao MD of the bank also highlighted the SIDBI Cluster Development Fund Scheme which is supporting State Governments for building MSME Cluster Infrastructure.

Prof. V. Padmanand, Partner, Public Sector Consulting, Grant Thornton Bharat elaborated on the key interventions and best practices evolved as a result of SIDBI's engagement with various state governments/UTs through the deployment of PMU (Grant Thornton Bharat).

Officials from over 20 state governments were present at the event.

The aim of the event was to learn and share good practices aligned to cluster centric development thus maximizing adoption and adaptation.  (KNN Bureau)
