Election 2019: New govt's focus should be on MSMEs for solving unemployment problem, say Dadar & Nagar Havelli MSMEs

Silvassa, Apr 24 (KNN) Among all the sectors, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) is the largest job creating sector and have been going through a critical phase from past few years, said Silvassa Industries Manufacturers Association (SIMA) in Dadar and Nagar Haveli.

While sharing the expectations with KNN India from upcoming new government, President of SIMA, CM Parekh said that the focus of new government should be on MSMEs in order to increase the employment opportunities in nation.

The problem of rising unemployment in nation is the biggest challenge in front of India and needs immediate attention of the government, he added.

He pointed “Large industries generate less employment opportunities compared to MSMEs as they are mostly dependent on automation.”

A stable government must come in power this time and bring in policies that will give boost to MSME sector in all states, he added.

In Dadra and Nagar Haveli, majority of industries are MSME, he mentioned and urged the local government of this Union Territory to bring in more incentives and benefits for this sector.

When asked about Goods and Service Tax (GST), Parekh mentioned that MSMEs here are very happy with the introduction of GST in India.

“With the introduction of GST, everywhere, every state and every industry has equal level field”, he added.

However, he suggested “Government must think about its slab rates to make India more competitive internationally.”

Dadra & Nagar Haveli is one of the UT that had gone for the polling in third phase along with other states and UTs namely Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Jammu & Kashmir, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Tripura and Daman & Diu. (KNN/YV)
