Applications open for Innovation Challenge on Low- Carbon technologies; MSMEs, start-ups too invited

New Delhi, May 22 (KNN) An annual innovation challenge is being organized under the Facility for Low Carbon Technology Deployment (FLCTD) project, which UNIDO is implementing jointly with the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) to identify innovative technology and solutions.

FLCTD project conducts annual innovation challenge in 3 technology areas i.e. Waste Heat Recovery, Space Conditioning, and Pumps, Pumping systems & Motors.

The annual 'Innovation Challenge' (competitions) is designed to identify innovative technologies and solutions in these 3 areas which are at prototype or semi-commercials stage.

The winning innovative solutions will receive the grant support for demonstration in industries and for testing in accredited laboratories; support to validate the efficacy of innovation in field condition through measurement and verification held by an independent 3rd party, business and/or technology mentoring and each out to key stakeholders.

The competitions targets to identify innovative low carbon technologies and solutions to improve efficient end-use of energy, which in turn will help to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the long run.

The applications for the 2019 Innovation challenge cycle is open and the last date is July 31, 2019.

The innovation challenge will allow participation of Indian Technical Institutes / Universities, Research Institutes, Start-ups, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), Large Industries and Research and Development units in Public Sector Enterprises and Government Laboratories.

To reach out to stakeholders, FLCTD road shows will be conducted in 7 cities namely Coimbatore, Chennai, Rajpur, Pune, Ahmedabad, Delhi and Mumbai for better interactions and to understand the work being done at various organizations and entrepreneurs. (KNN Bureau)
