Defence & Technology Expo in Chennai to showcase more than 250 MSME stalls

Chennai, May 24 (KNN) Swatantra Foundation, a public policy and advocacy institution in partnership with TIDCO & Lagu Udyog Bharati will be organising a three day Defence & Technology Expo in Chennai from May 26 to 28. The exhibition will showcase about 250 stalls by MSMEs and 50 stalls by defence PSUs and large corporates and is expecting 4,000 B2B visitors.

The focus of the exhibition is on empowering MSME and to connect the Indian MSME, particularly the micro & small with the Indian medium & large defence manufacturers as well as with foreign defence & technology manufacturers.

Union Minister of State for defence Ajay Bhatt will inaugurate the expo on May 26 at Chennai Trade Centre and the Defence minister Rajnath Singh will be the chief guest for the valedictory function on May 28.

The aim of the event is to connect MSMEs to end users in the services, Indian defence manufacturing majors and the various R&D institutions under DRDO and DPSUs.

It also seeks to build and harness the capacity and capability of MSME sector to cater to the needs of defence sector and technology sector.

The expo will explore opportunities to create a broad and sustainable supply chain base for a vibrant MSME sector for defence, exports, technology products and futuristic technology.

It acts as a forum for MSME and Defence & technology sector buyers to interact and identify mutually beneficial areas of business opportunities and to enable an eco-system for Innovation by promoting new startups and academia-industry collaborations.  (KNN Bureau)
