Eco-alternatives to Single-Use-Plastics being showcased at National Expo, Chennai

Chennai, Sept 26 (KNN) The Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board (TNPCB) in partnership with the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change is organising a two-day National expo on eco-alternatives to single use plastics (SUPs) and start-up conferences on September 26-27.

The event is taking place at the Chennai Trade Centre in Nandambakkam.

The aim of this expo is to provide an opportunity to the manufacturers to showcase their products and to make the public aware of the various substitutes available for the banned Single Use Plastic, said TNPCB release.

Around 150 kiosks exhibiting replacements to SUPs, such as banana leaf products, fibre/rice bran/rice husk/ agricultural products, areca leaf products, coconut shell products, coir products, pottery products, palm products, cloth/jute products and many more will be setup at the expo.

They will also be an exhibition on the machinery used for the manufacturing of eco-alternatives. There will be five startup conferences on various aspects of alternates to SUP, plastic waste management and air pollution management over the course of the event.

The two-day event will unite all stakeholders to come together and work towards achieving the goals of a more sustainable future.  (KNN Bureau)
