Flipkart working on making it easier for MSMEs to come onboard it platform

Bengaluru, July 23 (KNN) To ease the first-time e-commerce experience for micro, small and medium businesses (MSMEs), Flipkart  is easing its onboarding process.

To make it even easier and flexible, Flipkart has appointed a total of 13 regional teams across the country to help the onboard sellers in person, by meeting them at their respective premises itself.

This step has been taken to make it comfortable for the small sellers, who was lacking from the digital expertise before in listing their products on the platform of Flipkart which has a customer base of more than 150 million.

Head of Flipkart's Marketplace business, Nishant Gupta, said, "By making the steps easy to list the products we are revamping our onboarding process with an aim to make easier for any seller, any size, to get started from day first itself”.

As of now, e-commerce has a contribution for less than three percent of the entire retail industry of India. An estimate of Government states that around there are 60 million MSMEs in India. Due to difficulties ahead of them in terms of accessing resources, they are limited to their local markets.

“We know that the future of e-commerce is in bringing smaller businesses and MSMEs to the online platform. In flip to this, it will raise the employment and investment which will contribute to raise the country's socio-economic development," added Gupta.

In order to help the sellers to sign in the e-commerce base, Flipkart has added regional teams in many Tier 2 and beyond cities. It includes cities like, Jaipur, Lucknow, and Coimbatore to serve the sellers in over 4,300 pin codes.
