Ni-MSME organizing 3-day training program on ‘E-waste management and recycling options for MSMEs’ from Sept 18

Hyderabad, Sept 16 (KNN) The waste generated from electric products has become a huge challenge and to provide an insight into various aspects of e-waste management with respect to the current situation and future scenario, National Institute of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (ni-msme) is organizing a 3 day training program on ‘E-waste management and recycling options for MSMEs’.

The program is scheduled to begin from September 18, 2019 at ni-msme campus, Yousufguda-Hyderabad.

The registration for the programme can be done through the website www.nimsme.org.

The proposed workshop highlights the hazards of e-wastes, the need for its appropriate management and options that can be implemented.

E-wastes are considered dangerous, as certain components of some electronic products contain materials that are hazardous, depending on their condition and density. The hazardous content of these materials pose a threat to human health and environment.

These hazardous and other wastes pose a great threat to the human health and environment. The issue of proper management of wastes, therefore, is critical to the protection of livelihood, health and environment.

It constitutes a serious challenge to the modern societies and requires coordinated efforts to address it for achieving sustainable development.

The program will cover the broad range of topics including Introduction to e-waste management; Regulatory Framework & Compliance requirements; Composition of e-waste; Environmental & health issues; E-waste Collection System; Extended Producer Responsibility;  Recycling e-waste: practices & challenges;  Role of informal sector in e-Waste Management.

In addition, procedures for setting up e-waste recycling facilities; Environmentally Sound Management of e-waste; Approach towards effective Management Systems for e-waste and Case studies & Group Discussion will also be covered during the session.

The program shall include class room Sessions with Lectures/discussions, with audio visual aid; bench - marked video shows, Chalk & Talk sessions, group discussions, case studies, sharing of experiences, etc.

All the sessions will be interactive, demanding active participation from all the participants, as required. (KNN Bureau)
