Suresh Prabhu to launch SWAYATT, a dedicated section for start-ups, women & small entrepreneurs and artisans, on GeM on Feb 19

New Delhi, Feb 14 (KNN) Commerce & Industry Minister Suresh Prabhu will launch the ‘SWAYATT’ [Startups, Women and Youth Advantage Through eTransactions] on Government e Marketplace (GeM) on February 19, 2019 in the national capital.

SWAYATT seeks to bring together key stakeholders, within the Indian entrepreneurial ecosystem to the national procurement portal of Government (GeM).

Prabhu will be the Chief Guest for the event.

GeM is an online platform offering end-to-end solution for procurement of common use goods and services by government buyers. The platform presently has over 1.95 lakh registered sellers offering over 7.75 lakh products to more than 33K government organizations/ departments are buying on GeM. Since its inception, more than 13 lakh orders worth Rs. 19,000 crores have been processed in GeM.

With an aim to create an open and socially inclusive marketplace for all sellers and service providers, GeM is launching dedicated sections on the platform for Women Entrepreneurs, Self-Help Groups [SHGs], Startups, Rural/ Urban artisans and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

This will seamlessly facilitate such entrepreneurs in registering, listing and selling their products directly to Government Ministries, Departments and CPSEs. (KNN Bureau)
