Laptop imports records 12.8% increase in last 3 Qtrs; Chinese dominance continues with 73% share

New Delhi, Nov 30 (KNN) In the first nine month of 2022, the laptop imports of India has increased to USD 5.24 billion and about 73% of it came from China, as per government data. 

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry in its latest statistics released said that India had imported laptops worth USD 4.65 billion in the first three-quarters of 2021.

The statistic rose by 12.8% in the same period this year, said the data.

About USD 3.82 billion worth of laptops were imported from China alone in the in the first nine months of 2022.

This is 72.9% of India’s total laptop imports so far this year, and about 9 per cent higher than the imports of USD 3.5 billion worth of laptops from China in the same period of 2021.

China since 2017 has accounted for around 75% of India’s laptop imports, as per the data for the past five years.  (KNN Bureau)
