Govt to run buses, trains to ferry migrants back to Punjab: Industry Minister

Ludhiana, Jun 6 (KNN) Commerce and Industry Minister Sham Sunder Arora has assured Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the state to run buses, special trains to ferry migrants back to Punjab.

The Minister said this, on Thursday, during a meeting with city businessmen to discuss the various issues related to the Industry.

''Special trains and buses will be run to bring back labour in the Industry and other issues related to power, pollution, VAT, c forms, Labour reforms etc will be resolved soon,'' CICU quoted Arora as saying.

''We have raised several issues and urged him to expedite GST and VAT refunds soon. In addition to this, other issues like restarting of mining, resolution of labour issues and waiver of fixed charges for electricity,'' said S Upkar Singh Ahuja, President, the Chamber of Industrial and Commercial Undertakings (CICU).

Apart from these, other issues were also brought into the notice of the Minister such as a skilled centre to be upgraded, starting of Halwara airport, one-time settlement for old c forms, export of PPE Kit to be promoted.
