Haryana CM directs officers to prepare a plan for setting up clusters for MSMEs

Chandigarh, Jun 21 (KNN) In a bid to encourage new start-ups, the Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has directed the officers to prepare a plan for setting up clusters at the district level for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME).

He ordered the same during a review meeting of the MSME cluster scheme on Monday and said that under this scheme, maximum employment opportunities should be made available to the youth.

The Chief Minister further directed the officers to make an extensive plan for land, planning, types of products, technology, testing certification, research and development, processing, marketing, financing, export, designing packaging, etc.

''Suggestions should be invited on the portal from the people after making a complete plan as to which type of industries they are interested in setting up,'' he added.

He also said that if required meetings with such entrepreneurs will be called then the cluster scheme can achieve its real purpose.

While commenting on state exporters, the Chief Minister suggested setting up an Advisory Board or Council for the exporters by preparing a detailed report regarding the items that are being exported from Haryana so that problems that are likely to be faced while exporting can be resolved easily.

During the meeting, the CM also learned about setting up product-based clusters in various districts and said that focus should also be given to setting up food product-based clusters.

''With the establishment of small-scale industries, people will get more employment opportunities and new start-ups will also emerge,'' he stated.

Chief Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, D.S Dhesi, Managing Director, HSIIDC, Anurag Agarwal, Principal Secretary Industries and Commerce Department, Vijayendra Kumar, Director General MSME, Vikas Gupta, Director General, Industries and Commerce, Saket Kumar and other senior officers were present in the meeting.
