Industry department to refund 3% stamp duty charged from the industrialists: HP Cabinet

New Delhi, Oct 13 (KNN) The State Cabinet of Himachal Pradesh has decided that the industry department would refund three percent stamp duty out of the six percent stamp duty charged from the industrialists at the time of registration.

This was decided in the meeting held at Shimla under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur.

A decision was also made for making amendment in Himachal Pradesh Goods and Services Tax (Amendment) Ordinance, 2018. Under this, the minimum taxable turn over limit has been enhanced to Rs. 20 lakh from exiting limit of Rs. 10 lakhs. This will give a big relief to small traders in the State.

The filling of return by small tax payers (composition dealer) has been simplified and they will now file the return quarterly instead of monthly and the payment of tax will also be done quarterly.

The Cabinet even decided to plan developmental activities for districts with Potential Industrial Zone of Industrial corridor, which include Kanoongo circle Jandor and Kotla in Jaswan Tehsil, Pragpur Kanoongo circle in Rakkar Tehsil, Dhaliara and Bhagal Kanoongo circle in Dehra Tehsil and Jambal Kanoongo circle in Dadasiba Tehsil in Kangra.
