MIA accuses EPFO Chandigarh for forceful recovery of PF amid lockdown; MSMEs seek action

Mohali, Mar 28 (KNN) The Mohali Industries Association (MIA) has accused Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) Chandigarh of recovering Provident Fund (PF) despite lockdown due to COVID-19 outbreak.

''EPFO Chandigarh, Provident Fund (PF) Commissioner, Shushank Kumar Pandey, ordered the officers concerned to take necessary action for recovery of PF of current demand and also requested them to submit daily progress report of recovery,'' MIA Chairman, labour laws committee, Jasbir Singh told KNN.

He further said that government has already waived off PF contribution of employees and employers of those factories who are employing up to 100 employees for three months and also requested the employers not to deduct the salaries of any employee during lock down period.

Singh requested Central Provident Fund Commissioner (CPFC) to look into the matter.

''We request the CPFC New Delhi to kindly look into the matter and ask him no to harass the employers for the recovery of the current demand of PF during the lockdown period and also take strict action against him for dis-obeying the advisory issued from PMO office,'' he added.
