MSMEs in J&K discuss proposed 'Global Investor Summit'

Jammu, Feb 26 (KNN) Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Jammu and Kashmir have discussed the proposed 'Global Investor Summit' likely to be held on May 26-27, 2020.

Industry body Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA) on Tuesday held a meeting under to discuss about the summit which will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.  

The members present in the meeting, also hailed the initiative taken by the industries department for holding road shows in the major cities of Bengaluru, Kolkata and Mumbai in which Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) amounting to approximately Rs 5000 crore  has already been signed.

''It is need of the hour to finalise the state industrial policy 2020, which is at the final stage, as our association is receiving numbers of enquires from the prospective investors from outside of the state for the setting up their units in J&K;  but they are waiting for the announcement from central/state government.

''We request Lt. Governor G C Murmu to kindly take up the matter with the central government for the finalisation of the central package of incentives as well as state fiscal incentives for the industrial sector of J&K and also to notify the state industrial policy 2020 as early as possible to attract the massive investment in the industrial sector of J&K in near future,'' BBIA said in press release.
