Export promotion top priority in upcoming state budget: CM Khattar

Gurugram, Jan 31 (KNN) Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Monday said that the upcoming annual budget of the state will focus on promoting exports, products made from millets and creating employment opportunities in the state.
During a pre-budget consultation meeting with stakeholders, including representatives from industry, manufacturing and service sectors in Gurugram, Khattar pointed out that by promoting exports, foreign exchange will come into the country and the economy of the state will be strengthened.
In view of the International Millet Year-2023, units related to food processing, which will prepare products from millet, will also be promoted in the upcoming budget, he said.
As per reports, the annual budget 2023-24 will also lay special emphasis on strengthening the infrastructure of the state.
“Having good infrastructure will encourage investment and new industrial units will also be established," the chief minister said, adding that the aim of the state government is to create more employment opportunities and ensure rapid development of infrastructural facilities.
Khattar during the meet, assured the industry representatives that the government will look into their concerns and incorporate their suggestions in the budget. He also promised the representatives of considering the suggestion regarding VAT arrears.
Additional Chief Secretary, Industries and Commerce department, Anand Mohan Sharan said that the meeting was part of the pre-budget consultations.
