Google Partners with Andhra Pradesh Government to Boost AI Adoption and Innovation

Andhra Pradesh, Dec 6 (KNN) In a major step to accelerate the deployment of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in India, Google announced a strategic collaboration with the Government of Andhra Pradesh on Thursday.
The collaboration, formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), is set to transform key sectors, including healthcare, sustainability, and digital infrastructure, while promoting AI skills development and supporting the state's startup ecosystem.
The partnership, which was unveiled in Amaravati in the presence of key dignitaries, including Nara Lokesh, the Minister of Information Technology, Electronics and Communications, and Bikram Singh Bedi, Vice President of Google Cloud India, will see the integration of AI and machine learning (ML) solutions in critical areas.
These initiatives are expected to address key challenges in healthcare, environmental sustainability, and government services.
Chandrababu Naidu, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, emphasized the alignment of this collaboration with the state’s vision to leverage technology for public welfare. "We aim to empower every individual and business by harnessing the power of AI, building a thriving environment for innovation and growth," he said.
Under the MoU, Google will provide essential training for citizens through programs such as the Google AI Essentials course, offering 10,000 certificates to help individuals increase productivity and efficiency.
Additional skilling initiatives will target government agencies, with certifications in cybersecurity, data analytics, and generative AI.
Moreover, Google will nurture Andhra Pradesh's burgeoning startup ecosystem by offering mentorship, networking opportunities, and access to Google for Startups Accelerator programs. Eligible AI startups will receive cloud credits and technical support to drive innovation.
Google’s collaboration with the Andhra Pradesh government also includes pilot projects in diverse sectors such as agriculture, traffic management, and citizen grievance redressal, highlighting the transformative potential of AI and cloud technology for public services and economic development.
Through this collaboration, both Google and the Andhra Pradesh government aim to unlock new opportunities for growth, inclusion, and progress across the state.
