Bhubaneswar, Dec 4 (KNN) In a significant achievement for the state's MSME sector, Odisha has successfully exported its largest on-road engineering consignment to Bhutan, marking a notable breakthrough for local small-scale enterprises.

The consignment, manufactured by East End Technologies Private Limited, a Choudwar Industrial Estate-based small scale enterprise, represents a substantial step in the state's industrial development.

MSME Minister Gokulananda Mallik officially launched the export initiative by flagging off the truck carrying the consignment.

Highlighting the significance of the moment, Mallik emphasised that this is the first instance of such a large-scale engineering equipment export by road to a foreign country.

He characterised the achievement as a proud moment for Odisha, positioning it as a testament to the state's capabilities within the Make-in-India framework.

Hemant Sharma, Principal Secretary of MSME, expressed optimism about the export's potential impact.

He noted that this milestone could generate increased demand for engineering equipment produced by Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and indicated the department's ambition to establish new export benchmarks in the coming period.

The event was attended by key industry representatives, including Sandeep Patnaik, Managing Director, East End Technologies, JK Rath, Vice-President of the company, Sanjeev Mahapatra, Secretary, UCCI, and Subir Banerjee, Vice-President, AIEBA, underscoring the collaborative effort behind this significant export achievement.
