Telangana Government Urges Nasscom to Support State’s Young India Skills University Initiative
Hyderabad, Dec 12 (KNN) Telangana's IT and Industries Minister, D. Sridhar Babu, called on Nasscom to join forces with the Young India Skills University, a visionary project initiated by the state government.
In a strategic meeting held at the State Secretariat, Babu discussed the growing importance of upskilling IT professionals and engineering graduates, particularly in light of the rapid advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The meeting, attended by Nasscom president Rajesh Nambiar and key officials, focused on how the industry body can contribute to the development of a skilled workforce in Telangana.
Babu emphasised the need for Nasscom to leverage its influence to attract new companies to Hyderabad, further cementing the city’s status as a global hub for Capability Centres (GCCs).
The Minister highlighted that the synergy between the state government and Nasscom could play a pivotal role in shaping Telangana’s future in the tech industry.
Babu also credited Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for his leadership, which has fostered a world-class ecosystem for innovation and growth.
According to Babu, Telangana’s IT sector is poised to become a frontrunner in India, driven by the government’s commitment to creating an environment that nurtures technological advancement and global collaboration.
The meeting saw the presence of key stakeholders, including Sai Krishna, the state government’s IT Advisor, Nasscom officials Srikant Srinivasan and Praveen, as well as Government IT strategist Srikant Lanka.
The discussions underscored the collaborative efforts needed to navigate the challenges of AI-driven change and ensure that the state’s workforce remains competitive in the evolving tech landscape.
With a forward-thinking approach and robust partnerships, Telangana is positioning itself to lead the way in India’s IT sector, and this collaboration with Nasscom could be a critical step in realising that ambition.
