    <fulldesc>&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;New Delhi, Mar 28 (KNN)&lt;/strong&gt; The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has removed port restriction for import of apples.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&#13;
&lt;p&gt;DGFT in a notification said, Port restriction for import of apples covered under EXIM Code 08081000 is hereby removed.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&#13;
&lt;p&gt;Earlier import was allowed though both sea ports and airports in Kolkata, Chennai, Mumbai &amp;amp; Cochin; and land port and airport in Delhi.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&#13;
&lt;p&gt;Import of apples were also allowed through Indias land borders.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&#13;
&lt;p&gt;The restrictions were introduced by the government as a form of non-tariff barrier aimed at protecting Indian producers after receiving pressure from domestic transporters. &lt;strong&gt;(KNN Bureau)&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
