    <fulldesc>&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;New Delhi, Nov 12 (KNN) &lt;/strong&gt;The Information Technology &amp;amp; Electronics (IT&amp;amp;E) Department of West Bengal has selected Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT) as its knowledge partner for cyber security.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;

&lt;p&gt;The move was a part of West Bengal Governments strategy of having centres of excellence for emerging technologies like blockchain, artificial intelligence and cyber security.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&#13;
&lt;p&gt;The university, which runs a number of courses on cyber security, will set up a centre of excellence in this regard, where a consortium of leading institutions will be providing lessons on tackling cyber threats.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&#13;
&lt;p&gt;In this regard, the IT&amp;amp;E Department has also invited institutions who want to help set up a helpline for cyber crime victims.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&#13;
&lt;p&gt;In the works is also a list of simple dos and donts for guidance of people and departments when cyber attacks happen, especially in critical infrastructures like power, traffic, transportation, metros, airports, etc.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&#13;
&lt;p&gt;The State Government has also come up with a Cyber Security Centre of Excellence for the purpose of collection, analysis and dissemination of information related to cyber security.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&#13;
&lt;p&gt;With this, the government believes that around 1 lakh cyber security jobs can be created annually.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
