    <fulldesc>&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;New Delhi, Dec 7 (KNN)&lt;/strong&gt; Krishnamurthy Subramanian has been appointed as the new Chief Economic Adviser for three years by the government.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;

&lt;p&gt;Subramanian is a professor at Hyderabad's Indian School of Business.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&#13;
&lt;p&gt;In June, then Chief Economic Advisor (CEA) Arvind Subramanian submitted his resignation and expressed his desire to return to the United States due to family commitments.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&#13;
&lt;p&gt;The office of CEA has been vacant since then. &lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&#13;
&lt;p&gt;Currently, he serves as associate professor of finance and executive director for the Centre for Analytical Finance. &lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&#13;
&lt;p&gt;Subramanian has a PhD from Chicago-Booth and a top-ranking IIT-IIM alumnus.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&#13;
&lt;p&gt;He is one of the worlds leading experts in banking, corporate governance and economic policy.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&#13;
&lt;p&gt;He serves as a member of Sebis standing committees on alternative investment policy, primary markets, secondary markets and research.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&#13;
&lt;p&gt;He is also on the boards of Bandhan Bank Ltd, the National Institute of Bank Management, and the RBI Academy.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&#13;
&lt;p&gt;Before beginning his academic career, Subramanian worked as a consultant with JPMorgan Chase in New York. He also served in a management role in the elite derivatives research group at ICICI Ltd. &lt;/p&gt;&#13;
