ENA Sectors 2019-04-02 06:30:42 <p><strong>New Delhi, Apr 2 (KNN)</strong> To curb cheap imports of peas and pulses in the wake of surplus production of the commodity in the country, the government has again extended the import restrictions on them.</p> <p>According to the notification of Directorate General of Foreign Trade, The notification comes into force with effect from April 1, 2019.</p> <p>India is the largest producer of pulses in the world.</p> <p>Last year, the government had extended the restriction for three months which ended on December 30, 2018.</p> <p>In year 2017, the government had imposed 50% import duty on yellow peas.
