    <fulldesc>&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;New Delhi, May 1 (KNN)&lt;/strong&gt; The combined Index of eight core industries stood at 145.0 in March, 2019, which was 4.7 per cent higher as compared to the index of March, 2018.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;

&lt;p&gt; Its cumulative growth during April to March, 2018-19 was 4.3 percent.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&#13;
&lt;p&gt;The eight core sectors include coal, crude oil, natural gas, refinery products, fertilizers, steel, cement, and electricity.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&#13;
&lt;p&gt;As per Ministry of Commerce &amp;amp; Industry release, the steel production increased by 6.7 per cent in March, 2019 over March, 2018.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&#13;
&lt;p&gt;On the other hand, fertilizers production increased by 4.3 percent in March, 2019 over March, 2018.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&#13;
&lt;p&gt;The Growth in the coal sector also accelerated in March, to 9.1% from 7.4% in February.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&#13;
&lt;p&gt;The electricity sector posted a growth of 1.4% in March, 2019 over March, 2018. Its cumulative index increased by 5.1 percent during April to March, 2018-19 over the corresponding period of previous year.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;

&lt;p&gt;The natural gas sector witnessed the growth slowing in March to 1.4% from 3.8% in February.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
