    <fulldesc>&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;New Delhi, July 5 (KNN) &lt;/strong&gt;Taking steps towards labour reforms in the country, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman called for streamlining of multiple labour laws  into a set of four Labour Codes in her Budget Speech in the Parliament.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&#13;
&lt;p&gt;This, she said, would help standardize registration and filing of returns and reduce disputes.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&#13;
&lt;p&gt;Sitharaman said that the government is planning to streamline multiple labour laws into a set of four labour codes.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&#13;
&lt;p&gt;The minister stated that this will ensure that the process of registration and filing of returns will get standardised and streamlined.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&#13;
&lt;p&gt;With various labour related definitions, getting standardised and lesser disputes are expected, she said.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&#13;
&lt;p&gt;The Economic Survey of 2019 revealed that a plethora of labour rules have pushed SMEs in the country to remain small. &lt;strong&gt;(KNN Bureau)&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
