ENA State 2022-03-03 11:25:53 <p><strong>New Delhi, Mar 3 (KNN)</strong> The Delhi High Court has directed the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) to communicate to all authorities to make a clear disclosure on the ingredients of food article stating whether it is veg or non veg. </p> <p>This decision has been called upon to protect the fundamental rights of every person. </p> <p>A bench of Justices Vipin Sanghi and D K Sharma passed the order while hearing a plea for labelling all items used by the public as vegetarian or non-vegetarian and the items used in the manufacturing process.</p> <p>The submission made by the petitioners counsel was agreed by the High Court stating that it was pointless to issue such a communication to the authorities, and not to the general public whose fundamental rights were being affected. </p> <p>It was earlier said by the court that labelling non vegetarian ingredients as vegetarian offend religious and cultural sentiments of strict vegetarians. <em><strong>(KNN Bureau)</strong></em></p> 28532 https://knnindia.co.in/news/newsdetails/state/delhi-hc-directs-fssai-to-tell-authorities-to-strictly-categorise-food-article-as-veg-or-non-veg 2022-03-03 11:25:53 knnindia.co.in
