    <fulldesc>&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;New Delhi, April 4 (KNN)&lt;/strong&gt; The central government has appointed Apurva Chandra as MSME Secretary from 2-18 April, 2022 through an order from the Department of Personnel &amp;amp; Training (DoPT).&lt;/p&gt;&#13;

&lt;p&gt;Chandra has been assigned the post of MSME Secretary in an additional capacity during the period of absence of Bidyut Bihari Swain.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&#13;
&lt;p&gt;At present, Apurva Chandra holds the charge of Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting which he assumed in August 2021.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&#13;
&lt;p&gt;He obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering and Masters in Structural Engineering from IIT Delhi.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&#13;
&lt;p&gt;Prior to this, Chandra served as Secretary, Ministry of Labour&amp;amp; Employment since October 1, 2020 with the mandate to implement the Labour Codes passed by the Parliament in September, 2020 expeditiously.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&#13;
&lt;p&gt;Under his guidance rules have been framed for all four Labour Codes after extensive consultations with all stakeholders.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&#13;
&lt;p&gt;From 2013 to 2017, he served as Principal Secretary (Industries) in the Government of Maharashtra and led the country in attracting FDI and other investments over the period. &lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&#13;
&lt;p&gt;He has also spent more than seven years in the Ministry of Petroleum &amp;amp; Natural Gas and has served on the Board of Directors of Maharatna PSU, GAIL (India) Ltd. and Petronet LNG Ltd. &lt;em&gt;&lt;strong&gt;(KNN Bureau)&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
