    <fulldesc>&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;New Delhi, April 14 (KNN)&lt;/strong&gt; The Indian Institute of Technology(IIT), Madras will help in providing indigenous support to meet the maintenance requirements of the Indian Air Force (IAF) weapon systems&lt;/p&gt;&#13;

&lt;p&gt;To make the partnership official a memorandum of understanding (MOU) has been signed between IAF and IIT, Madras on Wednesday at Air Force Station, Tughlakabad, Delhi .&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&#13;
&lt;p&gt;Through the pact several developmental projects will be covered with an objective to accelerate indigenous defence manufacturing under the vision of self-reliance.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&#13;
&lt;p&gt;Air Commodore S Bahuja, Command Engineering Officer (Systems), Headquarters Maintenance Command, IAF and Professor H S N Murthy, Head of Department Aerospace Engineering IIT Madras signed the document.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&#13;
&lt;p&gt;This partnership between IAF and IIT Madras aims to accelerate IAFs indigenisation efforts for achieving Atma Nirbhar Bharat. Under the ambit of the MoU, IAF has identified key focus areas involving technology development and finding indigenous solutions towards sustenance of various weapon systems, said the IAF officials.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&#13;
&lt;p&gt;IIT Madras will also provide consultancy supported by research for feasibility studies and prototype development.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&#13;
&lt;p&gt;The institute will significantly contribute in indigenisation efforts by Base Repair Depots (BRDs) of Maintenance Command IAF, towards enhancing sustenance capability, obsolescence management and achieving self-reliance. &lt;em&gt;&lt;strong&gt;(KNN Bureau)&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
