Himachal accounts for 35% of Pharma production

ENA State 2022-08-31 09:18:49 Solan, Aug 31 (KNN) The Himachal Drug Manufacturers association (HDMA) on Tuesday organised a day-long seminar to deliberate on ways to strengthen the pharmaceutical industry of the state. Speaking at the occasion, Union Minister of State for Chemical and Fertilizers Bhagwanth Khuba, said the state accounted for 35 per cent of countrys pharmaceutical production and 20 per cent were alone produced in Baddi. Owing to the coordinated approach by the centre and the pharma companies, the country was not dependent on other nations to meet its needs during the pandemic. In a bid to further make the nation self-reliant the pharmaceutical companies should focus on research, development and upgrading their facilities, he said. The seminar bought together various stakeholders of the industry on one common platform in order to discuss and deliberate on ways to not only improve the pharma sector of the state but also the country.
