ENA Sectors 2023-03-10 14:22:58 <p><span style="font-size:14px"><strong>Tiruchi, Mar 10 (KNN) </strong>The Tiruchi Railway Division has decided to extend the One Station One Product scheme to 70 more railway stations falling under its jurisdiction.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The concept of One Station One Product was announced by the government in the Union Budget 2022-23.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px"><strong><a href="https://bit.ly/3B9mZSj"><img alt="FOLLOW US on GOOGLE NEWS" src="https://knnindia.co.in//uploads/gallery/GoogleNews.jpg" style="border-style:solid; border-width:1px; height:95px; margin:1px; width:299px" /></a></strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The scheme aims to build each railway station as a promotional hub, showcasing local and indigenous manufacturing products.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Products currently being sold through the OSOP stalls include Thanjavur dolls, Manamedu handloom cotton products, organic and traditional food products, Thirubhuvanam silks, sea shells products, terracota and papier mache and leather products. </span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Currently, the OSOP stalls under the Tiruchi division are functioning at Srirangam, Thanjavur Junction, Tiruvarur Junction, Mannargudi, Mayiladuthurai Junction, Kumbakonam, Nagapattinam, Karaikal, Velankanni, Villupuram Junction, Vriddhachalam Junction, Vellore Cantonment and Puducherry stations.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Under this scheme, people belonging to the marginalised section would be given permission to operate stalls at railway stations for a fixed period of time by charging a minimal fee of Rs 1,000 for 15 days.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Priority would be given to the holder of artisan / weaver ID card/ individual artisans/weavers/ craftsmen registered with Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India Limited, National Handloom Development Corporation Limited, Khadi and Village Industries Commission, self help groups registered with Prime Ministers Employment Generation Programme and marginalised or weaker sections of society, a press release from the Tiruchi Division said.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Interested eligible individuals could approach the station manager/ master/station-incharge of any nearby railway stations of Tiruchi Railway Division and submit a requisition letter with supporting documents, it added.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Presently, there are 535 stations covering 572 OSOP outlets in the country. <em><strong>(KNN Bureau)</strong></em></span></p> 32581 https://knnindia.co.in/news/newsdetails/sectors/one-station-one-product-scheme-extended-to-70-more-railway-stations-in-tiruchi-division 2023-03-10 14:22:58 knnindia.co.in
