ENA State 2023-07-28 16:52:46 <p><span style="font-size:14px"><strong>Bengaluru, July 28 (KNN)</strong> Karnataka Small Scale Industries Association (KASSIA) has urged Sharanbasappa Darshanapur, Minister of Small Scale Industries to make appropriate amendments in the Land Reforms Act and give KSSIDC the authority to acquire land so that plots are provided at affordable prices.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">CA Sashidhara Shetty, President, KASSIA led delegation met the Minister submitting a slew of suggestions and recommendations from the small-scale industries.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px"><strong><a href="https://bit.ly/3B9mZSj"><img alt="FOLLOW US on GOOGLE NEWS" src="https://knnindia.co.in//uploads/gallery/GoogleNews.jpg" style="border-style:solid; border-width:1px; height:95px; margin:1px; width:299px" /></a></strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">During the visit, it was discussed to find solutions to the problems faced by the small scale industries across the state. The minister promised to resolve the issues.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The delegation also raised the topic of upgradation of infrastructure of Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB) and Karnataka State Small Industries Development Corporation (KSSIDC) Industrial Areas/Colonies.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Despite lack of infrastructural facilities in these areas businesses pay a fair amount of property tax. To find solution to this problem, the MSME body has requested the Minister to earmark 40% of the tax revenue collected from such areas for infrastructure development there.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">With regard to stamp duty (fee) on loans, Shetty pointed out that the fee is very high compared to other states.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Fixing a maximum limit of 50,000/- will help micro and small industries in a greater way, he opined.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">KASSIA has also called upon the state government to deter the electricity rate hike as many MSMEs are forced to shut down their operations due to it.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">M.
