ENA Sectors 2024-06-10 16:29:50 <p><span style="font-size:14px"><strong>New Delhi, Jun 10 (KNN)</strong> The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has invited bids for the selection of ammonia producers to supply 5.39 lakh metric tonnes of green ammonia annually.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">This move is part of the SIGHT Programme under the National Green Hydrogen Mission (NGHM) initiated by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE).</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">In a recent announcement, SECI issued a Request for Selection (RfS) for green ammonia producers in India through competitive bidding.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The bidding process will be conducted through e-bidding followed by an e-Reverse Auction. The produced green ammonia will be supplied to fertiliser companies across the country.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The SIGHT Programme, a component of the NGHM, aims to incentivise the procurement of green ammonia production.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">MNRE has already allocated 4.12 lakh metric tonnes per annum of green hydrogen production capacity and 1.5 GW per annum of electrolyser manufacturing capacity under this program.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Launched in January 2023 with an outlay of Rs. 19,744 crores until FY 2029-30, the National Green Hydrogen Mission seeks to make India self-reliant in clean energy and contribute to the global clean energy transition.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The mission is expected to significantly decarbonise the economy, reduce dependence on fossil fuel imports, and position India as a technology and market leader in green hydrogen.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px"><em><strong>(KNN Bureau)</strong></em></span></p> 38142 https://knnindia.co.in/news/newsdetails/sectors/solar-energy-corporation-seeks-green-ammonia-producers 2024-06-10 16:29:50 knnindia.co.in
