ENA Sectors 2024-06-17 17:27:09 <p><span style="font-size:14px"><strong>New Delhi, Jun 17 (KNN)</strong> In a recent high-level meeting, the Chairman of the Apparel Made-ups &amp; Home Furnishing Sector Skill Council (AMHSSC), A. Sakthivel, met with the newly appointed Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Jayant Chaudhary.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The discussion centered on the current state and comprehensive gap analysis of the apparel, made-ups, and home furnishing sector in India.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Sakthivel, a Padma Shri awardee, presented the AMHSSC's achievements under the Ministry's guidance.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Notable accomplishments include the certification of over 10,000 trainers and 4,600 assessors, along with the training of approximately 2 million candidates through Short-Term Training (STT) and 332,000 through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) programs.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">A significant highlight is that 93 per cent of certified candidates are women, reflecting the Council's emphasis on gender inclusivity.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The AMHSSC has also established five Centres of Excellence in key locations across India: Noida, Tirupur, Kolkata, Guwahati, and Coimbatore.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">These centres aim to provide advanced training and educational resources to meet the evolving demands of the apparel and fashion industry.
