Nagaland Textile Firm Showcases Indigenous Crafts At Texworld Paris 2024

The biannual international trade fair, focusing on fabrics, textiles, and accessories, attracts global industry professionals and highlights innovations in sustainable textile practices. The team's participation was facilitated by the North Eastern Handicrafts and Handlooms Development Corporation (NEHHDC), the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), and the Handloom Export Promotion Council (HEPC). EANFER Director Neikule Duolo expressed optimism about the opportunity, stating, This is a wonderful platform to showcase our Indigenous handiworks to the global audience. Lucy Bora, Executive Business Development, NEHHDC, emphasised the event's significance in promoting Nagaland's textile heritage. She highlighted the presentation of Nettle fibre, an eco-friendly material unique to the region, as a key feature of EANFER's exhibit. The participation aligns with the Entrepreneurs Associates' (tEA) two-decade-long mission to create livelihood opportunities in Northeast India. Through EANFER, its private marketing arm, tEA aims to connect local communities with global markets. This initiative underscores a commitment to promoting sustainable development and preserving cultural heritage by bringing indigenous products to national and international platforms. The organisation views this as an opportunity to foster cultural exchange and appreciation for indigenous craftsmanship within the global textile industry.
