MSME Minister Manjhi, MoS Karandlaje Kickstart Yashasvini Campaign With 650 Women Entrepreneurs In Jaipur

ENA MSME 2024-07-22 14:15:14 New Delhi, Jul 22 (KNN) In an effort to boost women's entrepreneurship and financial inclusion, the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) launched its first Yashasvini Awareness Campaign in Jaipur, Rajasthan on Friday. The event, which saw participation from over 650 women entrepreneurs, primarily from the informal sector and Self Help Groups, was a collaborative effort between the Ministry of MSME, the Ministry of Rural Development, and the Women Entrepreneurship Platform. Union Minister for MSME, Shri Jitan Ram Manjhi, who presided over the event, emphasized the need for financial institutions to develop women entrepreneur-friendly credit products. For ages, women have been limited to the home and hearth, often doing unpaid and unrecognised work. But now, there is no field where women have not entered and excelled, Manjhi stated. The minister highlighted success stories of women who started with small enterprises and minimal investment but have now expanded to export markets. He stressed that such examples should inspire other women to seek empowerment through sustainable businesses. Minister of State for MSME, Sushri Shobha Karandlaje, praised the contribution of women to the Indian economy and the success of the Self Help Group movement. She noted that women's multitasking abilities and financial discipline make them competent entrepreneurs. Karandlaje emphasized that women's entrepreneurship is crucial for India's progress towards becoming a developed nation. The event featured technical sessions on government initiatives aimed at easing access to credit, markets, and capacity building for women entrepreneurs. On-the-spot registration facilities were provided for various schemes including Udyam registration, Udyam Assist Platform, and PM Vishwakarma initial registration. This awareness campaign marks a significant step in the government's efforts to promote women's entrepreneurship and address challenges such as lack of access to credit, markets, and technology. As India continues to push for inclusive economic growth, initiatives like the Yashasvini campaign are expected to play a crucial role in empowering women entrepreneurs and driving the nation towards its development goals.
