ENA State 2024-10-10 16:17:25 <p><span style="font-size:14px"><strong>New Delhi, Oct 10 (KNN)</strong> In a major boost to Maharashtras development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for a series of projects worth over Rs 7,600 crore on Wednesday.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Spanning aviation, healthcare, education, and infrastructure, these initiatives are set to drive economic growth and enhance public services across the state.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">One of the flagship projects is the upgradation of the Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport in Nagpur. With an investment of Rs 7,000 crore, this project aims to significantly improve connectivity, benefiting sectors such as manufacturing, tourism, logistics, and healthcare.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Officials believe the airports expansion will be a catalyst for job creation and economic activity in Nagpur and the surrounding Vidarbha region.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">PM Modi also laid the foundation stone for the New Integrated Terminal Building at Shirdi Airport, a significant site for religious tourism.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Estimated at Rs 645 crore, the terminals design is inspired by the spiritual Neem tree, symbolically linked to Saibaba. The terminal will provide state-of-the-art facilities for the millions of pilgrims visiting the revered site each year.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">In the healthcare sector, the Prime Minister launched 10 new government medical colleges across Maharashtra. These colleges, located in cities including Mumbai, Nashik, Jalna, and Amravati, aim to address the demand for medical education and services.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The new institutions will increase the number of medical seats, enhancing access to specialised healthcare for the states population.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Further advancing education and skill development, PM Modi inaugurated the Indian Institute of Skills (IIS) in Mumbai.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Developed under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) with the Tata Education and Development Trust, the IIS will provide vocational training in cutting-edge fields like robotics, AI, and mechatronics, preparing students for the rapidly evolving technology sectors.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Additionally, the Prime Minister launched the Vidya Samiksha Kendra (VSK), an innovative, data-driven educational platform designed to optimize resource management in schools.
