    <fulldesc>&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;New Delhi, Dec 5 (KNN) &lt;/strong&gt;India is experiencing a significant shift in its electronics manufacturing landscape, with approximately two dozen major industrial groups positioning themselves to enter the global supply chain. &lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&#13;
&lt;p&gt;Leading companies such as the Tata Group, Murugappa, Pidilite, GMR, RP Sanjiv Goenka Group, and Bajaj Hindustan are exploring opportunities to produce components, sub-assemblies, and raw materials for the electronics sector.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&#13;
&lt;p&gt;The momentum is largely driven by the Tata Group's successful entry into Apple's supply chain, particularly in iPhone assembly and component production. &lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&#13;
&lt;p&gt;Industry experts, including Pankaj Mohindroo, Chairman, India Cellular and Electronics Association (ICEA), emphasise the critical need to develop a comprehensive supply chain to achieve India's ambitious electronics manufacturing target of USD 500 billion by 2030.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&#13;
&lt;p&gt;Strategic partnerships are emerging as key catalysts in this transformation. Pidilite, for instance, has begun supplying industrial adhesives to Tata and established an applications lab with US company CollTech. &lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&#13;
&lt;p&gt;Similarly, Japanese battery maker TDK has set up a significant manufacturing plant in Haryana, while the Motherson Group has entered a joint venture with BIEL Crystal Manufactory to produce smartphone glass.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&#13;
&lt;p&gt;Apple has emerged as a primary driver of this expansion, with industry sources indicating the company's vendor development team actively scouting Indian companies to diversify its supply chain away from China. &lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&#13;
&lt;p&gt;Currently, made-in-India iPhones contribute 14-15 per cent of Apple's global manufacturing capacity, with projections suggesting this could reach 26-30 per cent by 2027 and potentially match China's production levels by 2030.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&#13;
&lt;p&gt;The global context is equally promising. While the worldwide electronic manufacturing output stands at USD 4.3 trillion, India's current contribution is merely 1 per cent. &lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&#13;
&lt;p&gt;However, with increasing geopolitical tensions and the desire for supply chain diversification, Indian industrial houses see a significant opportunity to expand their manufacturing capabilities and global footprint in the electronics sector.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
