ENA Global 2025-02-06 14:52:55 <p><span style="font-size:14px"><strong>New Delhi, Feb 6 (KNN)</strong> The 3rd India-Japan Steel Dialogue successfully convened at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi, marking another milestone in the deepening industrial cooperation between the two nations.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Delegates from both countries engaged in insightful discussions on economic developments, steel industry trends, bilateral trade, and the international steel market.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">India highlighted its strategic initiatives to boost ease of doing business, sustain steel demand through infrastructure investment, and promote research and development.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Notably, the release of the Green Steel Report and the Taxonomy of Green Steel were presented as key steps towards sustainability.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The countrys demographic advantages and pro-investment policies were also underscored as promising opportunities for Japanese investors.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Japan shared updates on its economic progress, advancements in steel technology, and ongoing capacity-building programs.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Both sides exchanged views on pressing global trade concerns, including the European Unions Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (EU CBAM) and its impact on the steel industry.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">A key highlight of the dialogue was the review of existing capacity-building initiatives focused on technology collaboration and skill development.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Japan reaffirmed its commitment to investing in emerging steel technologies in India, while India pledged to facilitate ease of operations for Japanese firms.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Jointly organised by Japans Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and Indias Ministry of Steel, the high-level discussions aimed at strengthening collaboration in the steel sector.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The dialogue was co-chaired by Vinod Kumar Tripathi, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Steel, India, and Hideyuki Urata, Deputy Director General, METI, Japan.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Guided by the Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) signed in December 2020, the India-Japan Steel Dialogue remains an institutional mechanism fostering innovation, sustainability, and resilience in the steel sector.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Both nations reaffirmed their shared vision to enhance strategic partnerships and drive forward sustainable industrial growth.</span></p> <p><strong><em><span style="font-size:14px">(KNN Bureau)</span></em></strong></p> 40959 https://knnindia.co.in/news/newsdetails/global/india-japan-dialogue-strengthens-bilateral-cooperation-in-steel 2025-02-06 14:52:55 knnindia.co.in
