ENA Global 2025-02-17 14:16:38 <p><span style="font-size:14px"><strong>New Delhi, Feb 17 (KNN)</strong> The United States and India have established a significant new framework for technological and economic cooperation through the TRUST (Transforming Relationship Utilising Strategic Technology) initiative, focusing on critical mineral supply chains and advanced materials development, according to industry leaders and economic experts.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Following their meeting in Washington, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Donald Trump announced plans to launch a joint recovery and processing initiative for strategic minerals, including lithium and rare earth elements. </span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The agreement extends to collaboration on economic corridors and connectivity infrastructure under the IMEC (India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor) and I2U2 frameworks.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Naveen Jindal, President of the Indian Steel Association and Chairman of Jindal Steel and Power Ltd, characterised the TRUST initiative as a pivotal development in bilateral economic and technological cooperation. </span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">He emphasised that the focus on IMEC and I2U2 frameworks demonstrates a strategic commitment to enhancing global connectivity and regional economic integration.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Industry experts have highlighted the initiative's potential impact across various sectors. </span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Rajamani Krishnamurti, President of the Indian Stainless Steel Development Association, noted the agreement's importance for securing India's industrial future, particularly in stainless steel, specialty alloys, and clean energy sectors. </span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Indrajit Mookerjee, Vice Chairman of Texmaco Rail &amp; Engineering, emphasised the significance of resilient supply chains for lithium and rare earth elements in advancing green energy transition and electric vehicle technologies.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">However, experts also acknowledge potential challenges ahead.
