ENA Sectors 2025-02-27 13:18:30 Mumbai, Feb 27 (KNN) The Ministry of Coal will conduct a roadshow in Mumbai on February 28, 2025, at The Taj Mahal Palace as part of its ongoing initiative to highlight investment opportunities in the coal sector and commercial coal mine auctions. Union Minister of Coal and Mines, Shri G Kishan Reddy, will attend as Chief Guest, accompanied by Shri Vikram Dev Dutt, Secretary, Ministry of Coal, Ms. Rupinder Brar, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Coal, and other senior officials. The event aims to convene key stakeholders, industry leaders, and investors to explore emerging opportunities in coal mining, technological advancements, and sustainable practices. Commercial coal mining has transformed India's energy landscape since the inaugural auctions on June 18, 2020, creating new growth opportunities and advancing the nation's energy self-sufficiency goals. The sector has demonstrated significant progress through ten rounds of successful auctions, resulting in the allocation of 113 coal mines with a cumulative Peak Rated Capacity (PRC) of approximately 257.60 MTPA. Building on this success and to further stimulate industry participation, the Ministry of Coal has launched a series of roadshows across the country. Following an exceptional response in Kolkata, the initiative now moves to Mumbai and will subsequently continue to Ahmedabad, expanding engagement opportunities throughout the region. These roadshows provide comprehensive insights into upcoming auctions, key policy reforms, ease of doing business measures, and financial incentives designed to attract investors. Senior representatives from the Ministry of Coal, Coal India Limited, and other Public Sector Undertakings will present recent developments and engage with industry leaders, fostering discussions on regulatory frameworks and the coal sector's critical role in securing India's energy future.
