ENA Sectors 2025-03-06 16:20:32 <p><span style="font-size:14px"><strong>Gandhinagar, Mar 6 (KNN)</strong> US-based electronics manufacturing giant Jabil Inc has announced plans to establish a second facility in India, investing Rs 1,000 crore in Gujarat.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">This move is set to bolster Indias semiconductor industry, generate employment, and advance optical networking solutions.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The agreement, formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Jabil and the Gujarat government at the Gujarat SemiConnect IESA Vision Summit, marks a significant step in the states high-tech manufacturing ambitions.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Jabils new facility will explore post-wafer fabrication silicon photonics technology, focusing on advanced co-packaged optics capabilities.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The company, known for manufacturing electronic circuit board assemblies and offering supply chain solutions, sees this expansion as a critical step in enhancing its global operations.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Matt Crowley, Executive Vice President, Global Business Units at Jabil, emphasized the strategic importance of Gujarat, stating, We are proud to welcome Gujarat to Jabils global network of over 100 sites across 25 countries. This expansion underscores our ability to implement solutions that best serve our customers.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel welcomed Jabils investment, highlighting its potential to create jobs and boost Indias semiconductor sector.
