ENA State 2025-04-01 14:49:30 <p><span style="font-size:14px"><strong>Patna, Apr 1 (KNN) </strong>Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Amit Shah, inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for various Central and State Government projects worth over Rs 800 crore in Patna, Bihar.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The event was attended by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Addressing the gathering, Shah highlighted the Modi governments welfare initiatives over the past decade, including housing, electricity, gas, drinking water, sanitation, and free food grains for 80 crore people.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">He criticised previous opposition governments for neglecting the poor and failing to strengthen the cooperative sector.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Shah emphasised Bihar's potential in the cooperative sector, pointing out that the state once contributed over 30 per cent of the country's sugar production, which has now fallen below 6 per cent due to previous mismanagement.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">He assured that the Modi government is committed to reviving the state's closed sugar mills and strengthening Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS).</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Key announcements included the establishment of a Makhana Board, a Rs 1,000 crore investment to revive the Maize Research Centre, and plans to procure maize, pulses, wheat, and rice at Minimum Support Price (MSP).</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Bihar leads in litchi, mushroom, and makhana production, ranking among the top agricultural producers in the country.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Shri Shah also accused previous governments of fostering corruption and crime, contrasting it with the current administrations developmental efforts.
