ENA State 2025-05-01 14:24:06 Bhubaneswar, May 1 (KNN) The second edition of the INWEC National Women's Business Mela commenced on Wednesday in Bhubaneswar, bringing together over 200 women entrepreneurs from across India. Organized by the Indian National Women Entrepreneurs Council (INWEC) in collaboration with the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and MSME, the five-day event was inaugurated by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi. During his inaugural address, Chief Minister Majhi commended the initiative for its role in fostering women-led enterprises and MSMEs throughout Odisha. Odisha is committed to empowering women and promoting MSMEs. This mela reflects our resolve to build a progressive and innovation-driven economy with women at the helm, he stated. Industries and Skill Development and Technical Education Minister Sampad Swain highlighted the broader impact of such initiatives, noting that empowering women and strengthening MSMEs was key to Odisha's sustainable development. Rajib Sahoo, Chairman, ICC Odisha State Council, described Odisha as a land of quiet ambition and bold transformation, adding that our MSMEs, especially those led by women, are not just economic engines — they are symbols of purpose, sustainability, and social equity. INWEC Convenor Preeti Pallavi Patnaik emphasized the changing landscape for women entrepreneurs in the state, saying, Odisha's women are rewriting narratives not just by participating but leading the way. The exhibition features a diverse array of enterprises spanning handwoven textiles, organic products, tech start-ups, and wellness ventures, showcasing the breadth of women's entrepreneurship in India.
