ENA Global 2025-05-05 14:27:27 <p><span style="font-size:14px"><strong>New Delhi, May 5 (KNN) </strong>The Commerce Ministry on Thursday conducted a comprehensive consultation with key domestic industry stakeholders to discuss the proposed India-U.S. bilateral trade agreement (BTA).</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The aim of the meeting was to gather inputs to strengthen trade ties between the two nations in a mutually beneficial manner, a senior official confirmed.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The session was chaired by Rajesh Agrawal, Special Secretary in the Commerce Ministry and Indias chief negotiator for the agreement.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">He led discussions on recent developments in India-U.S. trade relations and highlighted opportunities for collaboration under the proposed pact.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Industry representatives were briefed by the Department of Commerce, which also sought their views on how to further deepen bilateral economic engagement.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The dialogue focused on enhancing market access, resolving trade barriers, and aligning standards and regulations to improve competitiveness.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The special secretary assured participants that their feedback will be taken into account during the ongoing negotiations, the official said, emphasizing the governments commitment to inclusive policy-making.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Senior members from top industry associations including the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce &amp; Industry (FICCI), PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI), India Cellular and Electronics Association, and Assocham were present during the discussions.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The consultations come amid efforts by both nations to elevate their economic partnership.
