ACME Group Confirms India's First Green Hydrogen Project In Odisha

ENA State 2025-06-06 15:21:23 Bhubaneswar, Jun 6 (KNN) ACME Group has confirmed plans to establish its inaugural green hydrogen facility in India at Gopalpur, Odisha. The announcement was delivered during the Inauguration Ceremony for five industrial projects at the Tata Steel Special Economic Zone in Gopalpur Industrial Estate. The ceremony was attended by Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, state government officials, business leaders, and senior executives from ACME Group. The proposed facility will be situated within the Tata Steel Special Economic Zone and is designed to contribute to India's shift toward renewable energy alternatives. Anil Kumar Taparia, Chief Operating Officer, ACME Green Hydrogen Strategic Business Unit, stated that the company is committed to meeting project timelines. He emphasised the group's focus on developing innovative solutions for decarbonisation across multiple industrial sectors, citing Odisha's rapid industrialisation and sustainability initiatives as enabling factors for the project's implementation. The facility is planned to produce 400,000 tonnes of green ammonia annually and is projected to generate over 1,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities. ACME Group has entered into a partnership agreement with a Japanese corporation to supply the facility's complete output beginning in 2029. The collaboration is positioned to support Japan's net-zero emission objectives while advancing India's National Green Hydrogen Mission. The project represents a significant development in India's renewable energy sector and cross-border industrial cooperation in clean energy technologies.
