ENA State 2025-07-09 16:29:54 <p><span style="font-size:14px"><strong>Mumbai, Jul 9 (KNN) </strong>Maharashtra Industries Minister Uday Samant announced plans to transform Gadchiroli into a major industrial hub through a Rs 1 lakh crore steel project during a state legislature session on Monday. </span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The minister outlined the initiative while responding to a resolution under Rule 293, stating that the project will establish a comprehensive steel industry ecosystem spanning across Chandrapur, Gondia, and Bhandara districts.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The state has demonstrated strong performance in implementing agreements signed during the World Economic Forum at Davos, with Samant claiming Maharashtra executes 85 per cent to 87 per cent of its commitments, surpassing other states in the country. </span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">This implementation rate reflects the state's commitment to translating international agreements into tangible industrial development.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Over the past three years, Maharashtra has witnessed increased foreign direct investment, resulting in the creation of 62,000 new entrepreneurs under the Chief Minister's Employment Generation Programme. </span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">According to Samant, this industrial momentum demonstrates the state's pro-business climate and balanced development policy approach.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Beyond the Gadchiroli project, the minister highlighted significant investments across other districts, including Rs 60,000 crore allocated for Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and Rs 30,000 crore for Ratnagiri district. </span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The state has established the District Industry Council initiative to provide localised support for investors, facilitating smoother business operations and development processes.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Maharashtra attracted Rs 1.45 lakh crore in new investments this year, positioning the state as a preferred destination for industrial development. </span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The government has also achieved recognition among the top three states nationwide in implementing the Vishwakarma Yojana, a skill-based livelihood initiative designed to enhance workforce capabilities.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The state has launched the Madache Gaav (Honey Village) programme to support rural micro-enterprises, demonstrating commitment to inclusive development across urban and rural areas. </span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">This initiative aims to strengthen rural economic activities while contributing to the overall industrial ecosystem.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">To accommodate industrial expansion, the government is acquiring thousands of acres for new industrial estates. </span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Key infrastructure projects include the Auric City project in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, the Mhaswad Industrial Corridor, and the Dighi Port Corridor, all designed to enhance Maharashtra's manufacturing capacity and export potential.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Minister Samant emphasised the government's commitment to strengthening the state's industrial foundation, stating that the administration aims to provide entrepreneurs with the confidence and support necessary for business growth and success.</span></p> <p><em><strong><span style="font-size:14px">(KNN Bureau)</span></strong></em></p> 42746 https://knnindia.co.in/news/newsdetails/state/maharashtra-to-develop-steel-ecosystem-across-various-districts-industry-minister 2025-07-09 16:29:54 knnindia.co.in
