ENA Economy 2025-07-14 15:45:25 <p><span style="font-size:14px"><strong>Mumbai, Jul 14 (KNN)</strong> A new 20,000 sq. ft. Skill Development Centre will be set up at the Aurangabad Industrial City (AURIC) in collaboration with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The official Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the centre is expected to be signed next week.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">This development was announced during the visit of Amardeep Singh Bhatia, Secretary of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), to Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar on July 12, 2025.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">During his visit, Bhatia reviewed the region's industrial and startup progress and emphasised attracting Global Capability Centres (GCCs) and establishing R&amp;D hubs at AURIC to strengthen innovation.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">He also supported integrating PMAY 2.0 with state housing policies to build a comprehensive residential plan for industrial workers.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">An industry interaction held at AURIC Hall brought together major stakeholders, including MASSIA, CMIA, CII, FICCI, and ASSOCHAM.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Key suggestions included boosting connectivity to Hyderabad and Chennai, developing an MRO facility, launching local train services, and increasing MSME land allocation from 10 per cent to 40 per cent.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Proposals also highlighted the need for a dedicated chemical zone, affordable housing via MHADA, and stronger soft infrastructure.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The visit started with an interaction at MAGIC (Marathwada Accelerator for Growth and Incubation Council), where Bhatia praised regional startups and reiterated government support through Startup India and related incentives.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">He toured key sites in Bidkin and Shendra, including JSW Green-tech, Toyota Kirloskar, NLMK India, and more.
