ENA Sectors 2025-07-14 17:30:30 <p><span style="font-size:14px"><strong>Mumbai, Jul 14 (KNN) </strong>The Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) has identified over 300 high-potential export items to the United States and is urging the government to seek tariff reductions for these products.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The move aims to enhance India's export performance amid changing global trade dynamics.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">FIEO has shortlisted a total of 408 strategically stable and commercially significant products, which make up more than two-thirds of Indias total exports to the US.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">These items range across sectors &mdash; from frozen shrimps, pharmaceuticals, smartphones, and diamonds to textiles, carpets, footwear, chemicals, and electronic goods.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">India already holds a strong market share in key sectors. For instance, Indian shrimps account for over 40 per cent of the US shrimp imports, while honey, although a smaller export item for India, constitutes around 25 per cent of US imports.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The US remains one of Indias top export destinations, with total shipments last year valued at USD 86.5 billion.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">FIEO has urged the government to pursue trade facilitation and promotional efforts, especially in labour-intensive sectors.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Tariff concessions have already been sought in ongoing bilateral talks, particularly for goods facing stiff competition due to high import duties.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">However, challenges lie ahead.
