V Vijaya Bharath Reddy, Zonal Manager of the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC), stated that the land earmarked for the project lies within a designated buffer zone of the APIIC industrial corridor. Under the guidance of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, the area has been reserved exclusively for space-related industries. All essential infrastructure is already in place. Interested industries can begin construction immediately by coordinating with the State government, Reddy informed The New Indian Express. The proposed Space City is set to become a hub for satellite manufacturing—including communication, navigation, and Earth observation satellites—alongside developers of launch vehicles, propulsion systems, spacecraft components, satellite communication systems, and ground stations. It will also welcome startups engaged in AI-driven space analytics, deep space research, and space tourism. Officials expect strong participation from Indias growing private space sector and international collaborators. Companies like Larsen & Toubro (L&T), Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), and Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) are anticipated to be among the key beneficiaries of the project. With strategic planning and government support, Andhra Pradesh aims to emerge as a vital player in the global space technology ecosystem through the development of this dedicated industrial zone.
