ENA Global 2025-07-18 14:44:46 <p><span style="font-size:14px"><strong>New Delhi, Jul 18 (KNN) </strong>Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal conducted a comprehensive review of India's global trade and commercial engagement strategy during a video conference with heads of commercial wings from 74 Indian missions across 61 countries on July 16, 2025. </span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The virtual meeting aimed to strengthen India's international trade positioning and enhance commercial diplomacy efforts worldwide.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The session featured detailed presentations from key Indian missions covering trade promotion activities, market access challenges, and sectoral insights. </span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">During his address, the Minister outlined several strategic priorities for the missions. He emphasised the importance of proactive trade intelligence gathering, including regular updates on market trends, sectoral developments, and regulatory frameworks. </span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The Minister also called for enhanced sharing of innovative strategies and best practices that have demonstrated success in trade promotion and investment attraction.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">He stressed the need for regular dissemination of trade advisories to identify demand-supply gaps and create opportunities for Indian exporters in global markets.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Addressing market access challenges, Minister Goyal highlighted the importance of strategic interventions to overcome barriers including Non-Tariff Barriers, Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures, and Technical Barriers to Trade. </span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">He emphasised the need for enhanced alignment between missions and the Department of Commerce through data-driven planning and effective utilisation of digital platforms such as the DGFT Trade Connect Portal.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The Minister also addressed India's participation in multilateral forums, particularly the World Trade Organisation, emphasising collaborative efforts in key areas including agriculture, public stockholding for food security, and fisheries subsidies. </span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The discussion covered operational and logistical challenges faced by missions, including resource allocation, efficient deployment of commercial officers, and improved coordination mechanisms.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Minister Goyal called for greater synergy among missions, Export Promotion Councils, and Indian industry stakeholders to support initiatives under the Make in India and Production Linked Incentive schemes. </span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">He emphasised that such collaboration is essential for achieving India's ambition of becoming a global export powerhouse.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Prior to the Minister's interaction, Commerce Secretary initiated the session by emphasising the critical role of Indian missions abroad in driving overall growth of Indian exports and investment attraction, aligning with the objectives of Vision 2047.</span></p> <p><em><strong><span style="font-size:14px">(KNN Bureau)</span></strong></em></p> 42859 https://knnindia.co.in/news/newsdetails/global/piyush-goyal-reviews-global-trade-strategy-with-heads-of-indian-missions 2025-07-18 14:44:46 knnindia.co.in
